Warrior Wednesday Honors SSG Rudy Delgado

KFOX honors a Soldier from Fort Bliss, currently deployed to Iraq.

Staff Sergeant Rudy Delgado is the battalion shop foreman for the 121st Brigade Support Battalion, part of the Highlander Brigade (4th Brigade, 1st Armored Division).

He told KFOX about what he does as a shop foreman, and how he and his fellow Soldiers train and work alongside Iraqi troops.

"Our shop's workload is to make sure we give support to our battalion and make sure every vehicle is up and running for convoy support … we also cross-train with Iraqis, and give them maintenance support. We show them classes - from building an engine to regular maintenance and how to look at the vehicles."

Delgado said, “We're working with over 300 vehicles we also have new to us the MRAP vehicle for convoys – it’s fairly new to us."

Delgado sent thank you messages to all of those who support the troops. "I really want to thank all the support that we have in the U.S. A lot of families are praying for Soldiers. It’s something that keeps us motivated here in Iraq, and I just want to thank everybody as well as my family."

"I'd like to say ‘hi’ to my wife Myra and two kids... I love them," Delgado said.
