A Fabens man who deputies say was hiding inside a basement from authorities was arrested and charged with burglary.

Ivan Lorenzo Gonzalez, 27, was spotted sitting outside a business located on the 100 block of West Main by a U.S. Border Patrol agent who was driving by.

The agent who passed by the business a few minutes later noticed broken glass from a door located at the entrance.

A sheriff’s deputy and the agent went inside to look for Gonzalez.

Gonzalez was found hiding out inside a hole in the wall located inside a basement.

Authorities found $130 worth of stolen property on Gonzalez, said deputy Jesse Tovar.

He was charged with burglary of a building and remains at the El Paso County Detention Facility.
