Las Cruces Road Closures During Movie Filming

Drivers in the Las Cruces area will need to take different routes through the month of October.

The New Mexico Department of Transportation along with Las Cruces police and Dona Ana County Sheriff's deputies will be closing down several sections of U.S. 70.

Crews will be filming the movie "Due Date" staring Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifiankis.

Tuesday, October 6: Closures will begin at 6:30 a.m. starting on the westbound lanes and will move over onto the eastbound lanes with traffic diverted to Sonoma Ranch Boulevard onto Northrise Drive over to Roadrunner Parkway back up to U.S.70. The closure will NOT be lifted until 6:30 p.m.

Friday, October 9: Westbound traffic on U.S. 70 will have one lane drop from Sonoma Ranch Boulevard to Rinconada Boulevard.

Saturday, October 10: Closures will begin at 6:30 a.m. starting on the westbound lanes and will move over on to the eastbound lanes with traffic diverted to Sonoma Ranch Boulevard on to Northrise Drive over to Roadrunner Parkway back up to U.S. 70. The closure will NOT be lifted until 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, October 17 to Sunday, October 25: Closures will begin at 6:30 p.m. starting on the westbound lanes and will move over on to the eastbound lanes with traffic diverted to Sonoma Ranch Boulevard on to Northrise Dive on to Del Rey Boulevard up to U.S. 70.

Please note that during the evening hours from October 17-25, motorists will experience double lane drops on North Main Street at the intersection of Elks Drive/Triviz Drive; however, they will have access to gain entrance on to I-25 north and south bound.

No closures scheduled for October 7th, 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th & 23rd

The NMDOT understands this will be inconvenience for many individuals, and would recommend to plan ahead, and seek alternate routes to avoid further delays in your travels.
