KFOX UPDATE: Woman Dies After SUV Accident

EL PASO, Texas -- The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has confirmed a San Elizario woman died in an SUV crash between San Elizario and Fabens.

A spokesman for the sheriff's office said 20-year-old Christina Rivera of San Elizario was driving on the 15,000 block of Socorro Road in San Elizario, when she lost control of her 2003 Chevy Trail Blazer while turning on a curve, overcorrected and slammed into a pole.

Sheriff's deputies said speed appeared to have played a part in the crash, and are waiting on toxicology reports to see if alcohol was a factor.

Deputies also told KFOX Rivera was thrown from her vehicle.
