EL PASO, Texas -- The newly crowned Miss Texas USA returned to El Paso Wednesday.

Kelsey Moore was crowned Miss Texas this weekend after becoming Miss El Paso in June.

It was the 19-year-old's first try in the pageant world.

The 6-foot-2-inch tall Moore is a middle blocker for the University of Texas at El Paso’s volleyball team.

With all the added responsibility of the title of Miss Texas she said it won't get in the way of her first love.

"Volleyball is what's getting me through school and that's what's important, I want to get my education, for sure," she said. "My volleyball team is a little worried, but they're willing to work with me as well as Miss Texas USA is working with me. And they understand that this is volleyball season, and this is a big deal to me, and I plan on working very hard and starting again, hopefully, at UTEP."

Moore is originally from Chandler, Ariz.

She will compete for the Miss USA title on April 18, 2010.
