Abducted Horizon City Man Found Dead

The body of the man abducted from his Horizon City home was found dead. El Paso County sheriff's detectives had been working with Mexican authorities throughout the night trying to identify the body.

Juarez municipal police officials said the body found in a irrigation canal in a Juarez neighborhood is that of Sergio Saucedo, 30.

The Juarez police spokesman said the body was found by neighbors near the Casas Grandes area around 11 p.m. on Tuesday. Juarez police also released graphic pictures of the body. The body was found facing up, his hands were severed and placed on his chest and he had marks around his neck as if he was strangled.

El Paso sheriff's officials say the homicide is connected with the ongoing narcotic activity in the area. One Horizon City resident who didn't want to be identified said the Juarez violence is spilling into El Paso communities.

"The only thing that I can say is that it was bound to happen. They probably would have killed him right here but they probably wanted more information from him," said the man.
