Man Hit By Alleged Drunk Driver Near Clint

EL PASO, Texas -- An El Paso woman is in jail facing charges of intoxicated manslaughter after hitting a bicyclist with her SUV.

El Paso Sheriff's Officers said the woman was driving home after a night out drinking and hit Gustavo Vega, 47, killing him instantly.

Officers said Araceli Nava, 25, took her last drink around 6 a.m. Saturday hitting Vega four hours later.

“Its a tragic situation. As a whole right now we are continuing with DWI enforcement throughout the labor day weekend,” Sheriff Jesse Tovar said. “We urge all drivers to be weary."

The accident happened on North Loop between Fabens and Clint.
