Time Warner Services Restored, Customers Ask For Credit

A fire at Time Warner's headquarters cut Internet, phone and cable service for several hours on Tuesday.

Time Warner officials said those services have since been restored, but the facility on Airport Road will be closed all day Wednesday.

Officials said most services were restored, but some customers said they still had issues Wednesday morning.

"The service is back up. I had problems this morning because I have cable and phone connected together and I didn't have phone this morning or yesterday," said Javier Vargas, a Time Warner customer.

KFOX called Time Warner Cable for answers and they explained why there were issues Wednesday morning.

"Very early this morning around five we were transitioning from a temporary power source to commercial. We had the balance the load and we had to take some of the service down temporarily," said Vice President of Communications Gary Underwood.

As KFOX reported, a fire at the distribution facility knocked off Time Warner services to all customers in El Paso. Underwood said digital customers with video on Demand services will have to wait longer as they continue to make repairs at the main distribution facility.

Customers are wondering if they will receive credit for the time they didn't have service. Underwood said they will only work with customers that lost video on Demand service.

Some customers said as long as it doesn't keep happening they don't see it as a problem.

"It's not the first time you're going to lose cable. I guess, it would be an inconvenience if it keeps happening, a few hours one day I don't think it would kill you," said Timothy Pool who said his services were restored at midnight.

At this time, the El Paso call center is closed; however, repair, billing and trouble calls are being forwarded to other Time Warner Cable call centers when you call the main El Paso TWC number (800-CABLE 55).
