Plaza Classic Film Festival Begins Today

El Pasoans can enjoy an afternoon at the movies starting Thursday for the second annual Plaza Classic Film Festival.

The festival features movies from " The Terminator" to a sing-along version of "Mary Poppins."

Organizers hope to attract families to enjoy the history of the theater all while watching timeless classics.

The El Paso Community Foundation also said the festival also gives local artist the chance to showcase their work.

"This is an opportunity for us to show El Paso and what it can do show the world what El Paso can do in terms of programming a wonderful film festival with a lot of film titles and showing some local artists great work," said Eric Pearson.

Thursday evening The Plaza will begin the festival with two special events: our Sponsor Appreciation screening of "Rio Bravo" and a free outdoor mini-fest of local short films, The Good, The Bad, The Indie, Vol. 5 at 9 p.m. in Arts Festival Plaza.
