The Socorro Independent School District will start classes next week, and Thursday teachers and staff got a pep talk for the new school year.Superintendent for the district, Xavier De La Torre said Socorro has had a lot of success over the years, but that is no reason not to set goals for the future.De La Torre said he has a great team that he knows will work toward new heights. "The teachers are phenomenal and this is something that is unique to Texas, it certainly isn't something that you would find in California," said De La Torre.Classes for SISD begin Monday.
