El Paso police recover two stolen cars this week.

The first came Tuesday morning in the 6600 block of Boeing Drive in East El Paso.

Officers discovered a 2002 Mazda Protege had been reported stolen from Fort Bliss Monday.

Wednesday night, officers with the Auto Theft Task Force found a 1994 Honda Accord in the 3600 block of Esper Drive in East El Paso.

Officers determined the vehicle was reported stolen Tuesday. So far this year, the Auto Theft Task Force reports a 29 percent decrease in auto thefts in El Paso.

Through June of last year, there were about 1,500 reported auto thefts, compared to just more than 1,000 this year.
