2 Las Cruces Shootings Under Investigation

Authorities in Las Cruces are investigating two separate shootings that sent two people to an El Paso Hospital.

The first shooting happened around 2 a.m. Sunday on the 1600 block of Sacramento Street. Las Cruces police said a 49-year-old man was shot and taken via helicopter to Thomason Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The second shooting happened just after 3 a.m. at the Dove Canyon Mobile Home Park on the 3800 block of South Main Street. Dona Ana County sheriff's officers said one woman was also taken via helicopter to Thomason Hospital in El Paso for treatment.

It is unclear if this shooting is gang-related.

Both shootings are still under investigation.
