A West El Paso man has been arrested on allegations he stabbed and killed his brother-in-law Saturday night.

Freddy Gonzalez, 37, is accused of stabbing Hector Saul Cifuentes, 31, during a Fourth of July celebration at the Cifuentes home.

Gonzalez, of the 300 block of Shadow Mountain, has been booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on one count of murder. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.

The stabbing happened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday but police have not released how the disagreement started.

"When I got here, everything was taped around this area. We had to leave our car about four houses down the road," neighbor Alfredo Molinar said.

No further details have been released regarding the incident.
