Agencies Discussed Swine Flu Plans For Dona Ana County

If a second wave of swine flu broke out in Dona Ana County, officials said they will be more prepared.

Monday, various agencies across Dona Ana County met for a table-top discussion to plan for the future.

Emergency managers, hospitals, clinics, schools and first responders are throwing out scenarios to respond to in the event a variation in the flu would present itself.

They said they are working behind the scenes, so that their response time and energy will be more efficient for public safety.

"One of the things that we could probably improve upon and I think that's what been kind of talked about is sometimes we tend to duplicate the same information. And now we're trying to see how best, who would be the best people to disseminate certain information," said County Fire Marshal Robert Monsivaiz.

Emergency managers said it's been a while since all the agencies have been able to get together. They also mentioned they will take full advantage of the opportunity to create a working plan.
