El Paso County Sheriff's Department officials said 28-year-old Loudes Lopez of Horizon City died in a crash Monday.

Lopez was a mother of four children: ages 11,9,6,and a toddler.

Special traffic investigators released their report which indicated Lopez was traveling in a Ford Mustang eastbound on Eastlake at a high rate of speed, losing control of the car, crossing over a median and hitting a pickup truck “head on.”

The driver of the pickup was 49-year-old Socorro Hernandez, of Horizon City. She suffered minor injuries, including a broken ankle.

Investigators said they believe alcohol and speed played a role in the crash. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
