Water Main Floods Eastside Neighborhood

Water quickly rushed down the road from Kinross Drive to surrounding roads near Edgemere Boulevard after an early-morning water main break. The break happened at 2:15 a.m. Thursday, flooding some neighborhoods.

Police blocked off Kinross from Shedfield Drive to Edgemere as El Paso water crews shut down valves to stop the flow of water. Several homes on Kinross will be without water until crews can repair the pipe. They said it was an 8-inch pipe that ruptured.

The exact cause of the water main break is unknown. El Paso Water Crews said they will have Kinross blocked off for several hours as they repair the pipe and clean up the muddy mess. They said water should be restored around 9 a.m. Tuesday.
