The borderland is expected to see triple-digit temperatures this week and not everyone in the community can afford to stay cool. That's why the extreme weather task force collects fans to donate to needy families, but the El Paso fire department tells us donations are down. This fire station in east El Paso has only collected eight fans so far."When it's 100 degrees outside, inside a home can be 110 or 115. Especially if it's a mobile home which a lot of these people who need these fans live in mobile homes,” said Lt. Mario Hernandez with the El Paso Fire department. You can donate a fan at any fire station. The donated fans will go to needy families, the disabled and the elderly.
