Dad Remembers Son Who Died After Beer Run Chase

There are fond memories of Fernando Ramos Jr. He's they guy that liked the color green-- and the guy that that they called "Fluffy."

"He liked the Philadelphia Eagles. Why Philadelphia, I don't know son,” said Fernando Ramos, Sr.

But Saturday, memories are all his family has left.

"I miss him so much, so much," said Ramos, holding back tears.

What happened early Wednesday morning is still sinking in for Ramos. His 16-year-old son was in the car with his 19-year-old cousin Amanda Crawford, when the two of them crashed into a light pole on Gateway South and Monroe.

Police were chasing the two because their car matched the description of a car used in a beer run-- just a few blocks away. Both died.

But for now, the family is trying to heal. Fernando shared with KFOX, what would happen if his son were to walk in the door.

"I keep thinking he's going to walk in. And he's like, ‘Dad, dad, before you get mad, let me tell you what happened dad’."

And here's what he'd say to his son.

"I'd be like, come here. Just give me hug man. You don't know the hell you put me through. This has been so hard on me."

He said he’s going through a pain that he wouldn’t wish on his worst enemy. For parents still raising their children he has some advice.

"Be strict, be fair and you know, love your kids," he said.
