Horse Runs Wild In Horizon Neighborhood

Posted: 8:21 pm MST January 4, 2009Updated: 9:07 pm MST January 4, 2009

Some far east El Paso residents were in for quite a surprise when they saw a horse running wild in their neighborhood.

Animal control, with the help of some good Samaritans, were able to catch the horse in a subdivision near Eastlake and Rojas.

They were trying to place him inside a horse trailer.

Animal control officers on the scene told KFOX a woman tipped off the authorities that the animal was strolling around their neighborhood.

"We were standing right here and my dad saw told us he saw the horse from the truck. He saw him running to Eastlake," said witness Melissa Vargas.

Animal Control doesn't know who the horse belongs to nor how the horse ended up in a residential neighborhood.
