Investigators Determine Speed Caused Saturday's Fatal Crash

An update to a story you saw Saturday night on KFOX news at nine.

Authorities told KFOX the man who died after crashing his car into a canal in Socorro early Saturday morning was speeding.

The initial investigation proves Luis Carlos Sanchez, 47, of Juarez, Mexico, was speeding in the moments leading up the crash.

Officials said alcohol has not been ruled out as a contributing factor, pending a toxicology report.
