EL PASO, Texas -- Arrollo Road in El Paso's Upper Valley was closed off for more than six hours Friday as FBI agents and officials from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated a car explosion."I was in my room when I heard a big bang. I felt my bed shake and my windows vibrate," said Luis Carlos, a neighbor from across the street. The explosion was so powerful it rattled homes as far as several blocks away. Residents said a neighbor's car exploded and sent debris all over the neighborhood. Carlos, along with other neighbors, grabbed their hoses and sprayed the car down until they realized something."When the fire was almost out, we heard someone yell, 'Someone is inside the car,'" said Carlos. It's hard to imagine anyone could survive such an explosion that did this to a vehicle. A 39-year-old woman was sitting inside her car when it happened. Javier Herrera helped pull her out."There was glass all over her body. I did what I had to do for the neighborhood. That's what we do -- we help one another," said Herrera. The woman was taken to an area hospital with first-and second-degree burns. The fire department and police responded to the scene. Then, agents from the FBI and ATF responded later."At this moment we're still trying to determine, though, whether this was something accidental or whether there may have been something criminal involved," said Javier Sambrano with El Paso police.Residents of Arrollo Road are a tight-knit group, and their thoughts and prayers go to their neighbor and her family."What they're going through right now, I wouldn't wish it on anybody," said Eddie Rosales, a neighbor.
