ANTHONY, Texas -- With regular unleaded gas selling for $3.09 a gallon, it's no surprise all 20 pumps at the Anthony Pilot Travel Centers stay busy most of the day. Despite the low prices, not every customer is leaving satisfied.Several viewers have contacted KFOX claiming they're getting robbed at the pump."They told her (my mom) she had said, 'Pump 17.' When I was talking to the manager he was just laughing, saying that his employee had said that it was pump seven, and that the gas was stolen," said Robert Sanchez.Sanchez, who had gone to pump gas with his mother said she gave the cashier $30 cash, but the money was credited to pump 17, where another driver consumed it.Sanchez called Anthony police, but the officer said it was a civil matter and would have to be taken to court. According to Sanchez, the gas station manager offered to refund them half of the money as a settlement. Otherwise, they could leave without money or gas and would not be allowed back on the property."The same thing had happened to me last week," he said.Jose Perez, who happened to be pumping gas, overheard the commotion and said he had a similar experience Friday night when he tried filling up his other truck."I went and paid, and told her I was at pump six and nothing came out. I went and asked, 'What happened,' and they told me I had to pay again. I said, 'Why, I didn't pump?'" said Perez."I've paid a certain amount (before), and they just wanted to give me half of what I paid. Whether it's $50 or $30, they just want to give me half of what I paid," said Susie Franco.Franco said she paid $50 cash last week, but the pump stopped at $25, and was not able to get a refund."It's going to continue to happen unless something is done, and obviously they don't care," said Franco. The gas station manager referred KFOX to Pilot's corporate offices. A recording indicated the office was closed. KFOX left a message and is waiting to hear back from executives.
