EPISD Gets $700,000 For Classes
The El Paso Independent School District was awarded more than $700,00 Thursday through the Department of Education's advanced placement incentive program.The funds support tutoring and teacher development programs in 11 high schools to help low-income students successfully complete advanced placement courses.Rep. Silvestre Reyes said only 12 percent of Hispanics have a college degree and these courses will encourage students to pursue higher education.
