NMSU Basketball Player Avoids Jail Time

New Mexico State University basketball player Jahmar Young avoids jail time for charges of assault and battery.

Young, 21, was sentenced Wednesday to a one year deferred sentence which requires he does not drink or go to parties where alcohol is served; he must take a sexual harassment class, and complete 15 hours of community service.

Young was charged last September for an on campus incident where he allegedly exposed himself to a woman in a dorm room.

As long he complies with Wednesday's ruling, he will service any jail time.
