DEVELOPING STORY: Amber Alert Issued For Missing Teen

VINTON, Texas -- A teenager was allegedly kidnapped from her own driveway. The incident initiated a statewide Amber Alert early Wednesday morning.El Paso County sheriff's spokesman Jesse Tovar said the alleged kidnapping started around 8:00 p.m. Tuesday when 20-year-old Julio Adrian Martinez and another man drove to the home of Janelle Calderon in the 4800 block of Kiely Road.Tovar told KFOX an argument started in the driveway and that is when Martinez forced Calderon into a brown Kia Sephia and drove off.A statewide Amber Alert was immediately issued.Tovar told KFOX Martinez had threatened Calderon in the past, allegedly saying if she broke up with him her family would suffer the consequences.Janelle’s mother, Lucy Giullen, had this message for her missing daughter:“We miss you Janelle. We are waiting here and your brothers and your sisters your dad. We are all here. We are praying that you are going to be fine and you are going to return,” she said.The getaway car was a brown Kia Sephia with temporary tags with the expiration date of 9-28-08.Deputies described Martinez as a white man about 5 feet 5 inches tall, 130 pounds with brown eyes and hair. He has the name Janelle tattooed on his wrist.Deputies described Janelle as last seen wearing a white pullover short sleeve T-shirt with blue sweatpants and white tennis shoes with blue stripes. She has a tattoo of a butterfly on her ankle with the name Memo underneath.Anyone who sees Martinez or Calderon should call 911 or the sheriff's department directly at 915-546-2280.
