Presidio To Get Help From El Paso

EL PASO, Texas -- Volunteers from the El Paso Salvation Army are heading to help the flood victims in Presidio, Texas.Late Wednesday night and into the early hours Thursday they finished packing up and are heading off to lend a helping hand.The crew was called out to help victims of heavy rains and flooding in the Texas border city of Presidio."So we have packed up supplies and we are ready to leave in the morning. We plan to be there for five to 15 days. We are looking to go down there and set up to feed dinner tomorrow night," said Maj. Ron Wildman, of the El Paso Salvation Army.The drive is about seven hours and the El Paso Salvation Army will be taking about $3,500 dollars worth of supplies in a moving truck and a mobile kitchen."We have three meals a day, plus water, plus snacks so you can imagine. It is going to be hectic. It's going to be long days. We are used to long days. They are our neighbors. If you can say people living 300 miles away are our neighbors. They are Texans and we need to be there for them,” Wildman said.The Salvation Army accepts any monitory donations.
