El Paso Gets First Taste Of Fall Weather

Posted: 8:08 pm MDT September 14, 2008Updated: 8:49 pm MDT September 14, 2008

With Sunday’s winds, it was definitely a day to hold onto your hat.

West El Paso got the bulk of the gusts, branches bent and leaves rustled as the fall-like weather blew through the Sun City.

Winds gusts in some parts of town reached up to 66 mph.

But it didn't stop some people from getting outside to have some fun.

"But when you're trying to keep tablecloths on the table and you try to keep everything in order and you're trying to keep the coolers in place it becomes a little hectic with the wind blowing,” said West El Pasoan Phillip Lopiccolo.

By Sunday evening, winds calmed down to around 14 mph.
