El Paso Family Mourns Young Mans Life

Friends and family are mourning the death of a 22-year-old killed in a car accident in the lower valley.

Hector Bustamante-Nunez was killed after the car he was driving slammed into a light pole.

The accident happened just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of North Loop and Yarbrough Drive.

According to police Bustamante-Nunez was speeding on North Loop when he lost control of his car and slammed into this light pole.

The impact of the crash killed him instantly.

Friends and family made a makeshift memorial at the crash site Thursday.

Those who work in the area say they are not surprised that speed was a factor.

"Well they just see no cars passing by they just go for it and start speeding and racing," said Christina Ramirez from lower valley El Paso.

Another car was also involved in the crash, after Bustamante-Nunez car hit the pole the driver of of that car was unharmed.
