McCain Visits NMSU On Presidential Campaign Stop

LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Sen. John McCain plans a stop in Las Cruces this week.It is his first visit to the city of crosses during his campaign. McCain is hosting a town hall meeting Wednesday morning at New Mexico State University.It takes place at the Pan American Center annex.Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. and the event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.McCain's regional spokeswoman, Ivette Barajas said invites went out via email based on those who signed up to receive newsletters.Those who received the e-mail could attended if they rsvpd.Some students on NMSU’s campus said this is a great way for the candidate to get attention and they feel the senator's visit is a great way to get students excited about the presidential race regardless of their political affiliation."Not many young people vote nowadays. I think it’s good he comes and talks on the campus and gets the students involved and stuff,” said James Gallegos, NMSU student.“I think it's going to good be for the community.
