A large sinkhole blocked traffic Friday morning on Gateway Boulevard West and Lomaland Drive.

Around 3 a.m. a car took out a fire hydrant creating a sinkhole, which caused the roads to become hollow.

Crews have begun trying repair the 10-foot sinkhole.

The intersection was closed and police were forced to divert traffic on turnarounds and through parking lots.
