EL PASO, Texas -- A mother claims school personnel put her child in a bus when they weren't supposed to. Now, she wants answers."Somebody put my son on the bus and my son was gone for an hour. No one knew where my son was for an hour," said Mayve Sullivan.Sullivan doesn't understand what happened at Dr. Sue Shook Elementary on Monday. She claims her kindergartner, who is not a bus rider, boarded a school bus after school."This happened on Monday and to this day no one's told me what happened. No one's told me what they're going to do about it," said Sullivan.KFOX went to the school principal, Al Garcia, for answers. He explained that all students at Sue Shook have a card with their name and the method they use to get home, whether it's by bus or a guardian picking them up. Garcia explained what happened to Sullivan's child."Mr. Sullivan got on to the bus. He got past the teacher, he got past the bus monitor, past the bus driver without anyone checking his bus card," said Sullivan. But since this incident and others, Garcia said his staff is more strict on checking bus cards and they're taking more steps to ensure students' safety."I rode the bus on Monday and Tuesday. I wanted to get a better feel of what our kids go through," said Garcia.Garcia said he feels he did explain the situation to Mrs. Sullivan but understands the parents will be upset for a while."Clearly I apologize for what happened and sometimes it's just a period of time that we have to earn their trust back," said Garcia.
