Couple Says Home Leaking After Roofers Repair It

Chris and Alva Hoffman are a hard-working couple. Each of them has two jobs to help pay for their home in Northeast El Paso.

So when heavy rains hit the city and the couple discovered their roof was leaking, they weren’t too happy about it.

“It’s very hard. It actually makes you want to cry when it starts raining. To see your house coming down in pieces,” said Alva Hoffman. “You work so hard for this.”

Cracks in the ceiling and containers lining the ledge are tell-tale signs that water leaked in. The couple said they got their roof repaired in January by Precision Roofing and Siding. They paid the company more than $4,000 and they have a warranty for the work. But when they tried to cash in on the warranty, they ran into some problems.

"I called them. Their number has been disconnected," said Chris Hoffman.

The address where the business is registered, 12349 Tierra Alaska Ave., leads to a house that is vacant.

"I don't know what else to do," Chris Hoffman said.

Precision Roofing and Siding is registered to Christy Ruth Belanger. The Hoffmans said Dallas Belanger is the person who came to his home and gave him the contract for the job. They were unable to reach him on his cell phone.

The Hoffmans said the company appeared trustworthy when they came to their home. They showed them proof of insurance and bond.

The Better Business Bureau has six unanswered complaints against Precision Roofing and Siding.
