Police: Market Robbery May be Linked To Others

Dona Ana County sheriff's deputies and Las Cruces police are working together to investigate a string of robberies.

The team-up comes after thieves robbed Jim's supermarket in hatch at around 6 a.m. Thursday morning.

The armed suspects allegedly walked into the store and demanded money.

Before they fled, they tied the feet and hands of store employees.

Investigators say the crime bears similarities to the robbery of a Denny's restaurant in Las Cruces earlier this week, and a Las Cruces bank last week.

Sgt. Joesph Renaud of the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Department said, "After the two, two of the workers were duct taped, one of the assailants went to the managers office. The manager had all his money out and was counting it to prepare to open the business, they took the money they took some checks and then they duct taped him as well."

Investigators say another suspect waited in a getaway car.

They believe the suspects got away with over $5,000 in this latest robbery.
