Northeast Gets Soaked

Posted: 7:58 pm MDT June 30, 2008Updated: 12:58 pm MDT July 1, 2008

Slick streets and puddles were the telltale signs of rain in Northeast El Paso. Dyer and Rushing streets turned into a mini stream as cars slowed down to make their way through flooded waters.

Despite the small inconvenience, some people welcomed the rain.

“We needed it here in Northeast El Paso,” Berenice Mendez.

But for pedestrians walking by, it was another story.

“I was just walking and all of a sudden two people, just driving, and they wet me,” said Guadalupe Munoz. “They looked at me and they just laughed, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, I got all wet.'"

No major problems surfaced because of the showers, just a damper on some people’s stroll home.
