EL PASO, Texas -- Superintendent Dr. Sylvia Atkinson has confirmed she'll be leaving S.I.S.D.

Atkinson gave the news to the El Paso Times and refused to speak with KFOX until after Tuesday's special board meeting at S.I.S.D. headquarters located at 12440 Rojas Drive at 6 p.m.

Atkinson has been at the center of our investigation into the district's hiring practices and allegations of cronyism.

KFOX reporter/anchor Peter Daut spoke with board president, Karen Blaine Monday, who was surprised that Atkinson is already openly talking about her departure.

The board will reveal the details of this separation agreement to KFOX after Tuesday's meeting.
