The Las Cruces Fire Department responded to a hotel fire around 8 p.m. Thursday.

It happened at the Quality Inn and Suites in the 2200 block of South Valley.

Fire officials said mattresses and a carpet behind the building caught on fire and then spread to a shed and the exterior of the hotel.

No injuries were reported.

The hotel is still opened customers, but no word on how much damage was done.
