NMSU President Heading to Louisiana

New Mexico State University president Michael Martin is officially the new chancellor of Louisiana State University's main campus in Baton Rouge.

The LSU board of supervisors voted Thursday to hire Martin, who had recently been recommended by a search committee.

The 61-year-old has been president of New Mexico State University since 2004.

Martin starts Aug. 1 at an annual base salary of $400,000.
