EL PASO, Texas -- The disappearance of a man has ended with tragic news for his family as El Paso police continue Monday investigating a suspicious death in east El Paso.

The family of a 45-year-old Hispanic man discovered him dead inside his apartment Monday morning. Members of the family said they were worried after not hearing from him for some time so they went to his residence to check on him and that’s when he was found dead inside his home, according to police.

Police were called Monday morning to the High Ridge apartment complex where they found the body.

"At this moment in the investigation we haven't been able to determine the cause of death, but we are treating it as a suspicious death at this time. Of course this may change as the investigation continues,” said El Paso police spokesman Javier Sambrano.

Police have not released the name of the individual.
