Juarez Cartels Promise Blood Bath This Weekend

E-mail and text messages circulating the borderland warning of a bloody weekend in Juarez.

While the violence from Juarez hasn't spilled over into El Paso, e-mail and text messages warning about a weekend bloodbath in Juarez have.

The email's subject line is "a warning about this Saturday."

David Ramirez hasn't read the text or e-mails. But he's already canceling graduation plans across the border.

"Because of all the violence my family decided it is not worth going to get killed over. It is sad in a way because my niece was looking forward to the party," he said.

Francisco Wong owns restaurants both in El Paso and across the border. He tells KFOX he's lost innocent friends over the latest battle in the drug war.

"You know about the stuff that is going on. It is basically news, it's just blah blah people that you don't know, but you get touched when it happens to people you know for a long time," Wong said after two of his friends were killed in Juarez last weekend.

Those who travel across our border almost every day said they are heeding the warning, whether it's rumor or not.

"If something happens, there is really nothing that you can do, but at least you are more away if you are looking or driving," Wong said.

Wong also tells KFOX he has lost business in Juarez because of the violence.
