JUAREZ, Mexico -- Sunday night drug cartels in Juarez sent a brutal message to police officers in cities across Mexico: "Either join us or die."

The threat appeared in recruiting banners near roadsides and in publicly posted death lists.

As KFOX reported, at least four high-ranking police officials were gunned down this month in Juarez.

The city's chief of police has resigned from office.
