EL PASO, Texas -- Nothing sounds sweeter than helping those in need, and Saturday the Mountain View High School band did just that."All the money we raised today, we want to donate to another high school in need, just like we were," band president Jessica Ramirez said.Earlier this year, Mountain View got a check for $25,000 from another high school in Houston. That money helped buy more than 150 band instruments. And now, Mountain View is ready to pass on the generosity."It's been a blessing that someone thought about us to begin with, so we want to pay it forward to someone I think would like to get some help," band director Alma Beach said.Saturday the school hosted its first Clint ISD Fine Arts Festival with all proceeds going to another high school in need -- possibly here in the border region.Turnout was strong, and organizers said they hit a positive note while trying to do a good deed."We just have great kids and a great community, so I'm glad we worked this out," Beach said.
