EL PASO. Texas -- A collision between a big rig and a train occurred Thursday night in the Lower Valley, KFOX reported.

According to El Paso police, a train traveling in one direction cleared Zaragosa Road at Billy The Kid, and the railroad crossing gates began to lift.

Moments later, a train traveling in the opposite direction approached the same intersection, so the gates started to close.

Police at the scene said the gate lodged itself in between the tractor and the trailer of an 18-wheeler.

The train caused damage to the front of the semi.

Officials said no one suffered any injuries.
