EL PASO, Texas -- Bars in east El Paso had an unexpected visit from inspectors with the city of El Paso Department of Public Health and Environmental Health Services Thursday night.

The bars inspected include Three Legged Monkey, Montrae Lounge, Geoske, Susaki and the Ale House.

The inspectors, who were escorted by police said, they found several violations, including unsanitary conditions with glasses in the bar area.

"The glass, (the bartenders) just dip it (in water). They go round and round three times and it's out. It's ready for the next customer," said Teresa Rios, an inspector.

"If somebody has a sore in their mouth ... there it goes. Hepatitis A ... very well to transmit, too," she said.

Rios would not state which bars were cited for the problems. Some bars received warnings for noise levels being over the city ordinance limit. Officials said a sign needed to be displayed stating it may cause hearing loss.
