EL PASO, Texas -- The El Paso police officer convicted of a sexual relationship with a minor was sentenced Thursday after 4 p.m.

As KFOX TV reported, patrol officer Luis Nava III was charged with sexual assault of a child, sexual performance of a child and possession of child pornography.

His victim, who was 16 at the time took the stand during the trial.

The jury deliberated for three hours Tuesday and for most of the day Wednesday.
