EL PASO, Texas -- El Paso police told KFOX a Westside SWAT standoff ended around 8 p.m. Thursday.

Officers said the situation involved a suicide attempt involving a man barricaded with a gun.

The weapon forced officers to barricade the neighborhood as a precaution around Resler and Black Ridge Road near Kohlberg Elementary.

Officials said the man was apprehended and no one was injured. It is not KFOX's policy to report on suicide attempts in its newscast.
