EL PASO, Texas -- Las Cruces public school teachers, students and administrators learned that some of their personal information was posted on an unsecured Web site.School officials would not say what information was released, or which Web site the information was posted on.They have said about 1,800 people were affected and will receive credit fraud protection for a year.Administrators said they believe the information was posted unintentionally, by a part time employee.“We do concede this is a very serious concern so we have taken every precaution that we know how to, to make sure that this data doesn't go any further. We are notifying all employees that are affected, not all employees were affected,” said LCPS tech support, Jeff Harris.Las Cruces public schools said that at this point no one has been harmed by the release of this information. The part-time employee has been placed on leave and does not have access to Las Cruces public schools information.
