EL PASO, Texas -- Wind speeds in central El Paso Tuesday gusted over 40 mph. The wind also left a trail of destruction in one neighborhood where an entire storage shed was blown away. The shed flew over neighboring houses and landed a block away on Pershing Road at 10 p.m.The pile of metal wrapped around a utility pole near JC's Lounge. Pieces of it were also scattered on the road."It was almost like a little tornado was coming through," said Suzanne Donnelly, who bartends at the nearby bar."It sound like our roof was coming off our building. That's really what it sounded like. It was crazy," she said. When the wind picked up the bar owner had to hold the front door shut, otherwise Donnelly said dirt and debris would have ended up inside the bar.Across the street from the bar the wind broke a yucca tree in half. There were also pieces of roof shingles on the sidewalk. It turned out the shingles and the crushed shed belonged to a house a block away from the bar."I heard a loud noise outside, and then I heard my mom screaming, and I said 'What happened? What happened?' We came outside and saw our shed was gone," said Lavette Rodriguez, who owns the shed. The wind is also blamed for breaking a window at Rodriguez's neighbor's house.
