Man Wanted In Sexual Assault Case Arrested In Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- Monday, authorities in Las Cruces caught a man wanted for sexual assault.

After a tip from the U.S. Marshals, Dona Ana County Sheriffs Department was on the lookout for 52-year-old Jesus Barela.

Barela was wanted in connection with a sexual assault case of a minor.

Las Cruces police found Barrela after stopping him for a routine traffic violation.

Barrela is being held at the Dona Ana County detention center.
