El PASO, Texas -- A former county district clerk resigned after facing child porn charges.

KFOX reported 31-year-old Fernando Parra, an EPISD tech coordinator, is charged with possession and distribution of child porn.

Parra’s resignation letter will be presented in the county commissioners court.

Parra said, "Effective immediately, I hereby resign my appointment as a commissioner on the El Paso county service commission. I ask that commissioner’s court appoint a replacement to complete my term as soon as possible."
