Border Patrol Seizes More Than $1M Of U.S. Currency

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said officers made a startling discovery.

Customs and Border Patrol officers at an El Paso port of entry confiscated more than $1.8 million in U.S. currency Monday.

Officers said, just before 11 a.m. Monday, a family of three was attempting to cross the bridge of the Americas, when they discovered the cash wrapped in clear tape concealed in the door panels and rear cargo door of a Ford Expedition.

Officers said the seizure is the largest made in over a decade and possibly the second biggest bust of money ever.
